Converting between metric and imperial

A few handy reference points
One inch is exactly 2.54 centimetres, one mile is about 1.61 kilometres, and one kilogram is roughly 2.2 pounds. For temperature, water freezes at 0°C (32°F) and boils at 100°C (212°F).
